Max Factor Mascara False Lash Effect Review

When I first saw this mascara online, it drew me in right away because it looks exactly like CoverGirl's lash blast tube. That was absolute favorite mascara for years so I just had to check this Max Factor brand out.

I read some reviews on the Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara and was convinced it would be good. The price was reasonable at around fifteen dollars including shipping.

My max factor mascara arrived about 6 days later and I was pumped to try it. When I unwrapped the packaging it felt and looked just like my other tube as I had expected. This is interesting as to why Max factor felt the need to copy another brand. I LOVE the big wand and the spacing of the mascara bristles. When I first tried the false lash effect mascara it went on pretty good, there were a few clumps but I think it was because I put too much product on the wand. The volume was visible after two coats of the mascara and the on the third coat the length appeared. I was pleased with how my lashes looked after putting it on. I also applied the max factor mascara to my lower lashes and was happy how they turned out. By the end of the first day I had a couple little black specks under my eyes. It wasn't horrible flaking but there definitely was some present. I would still recommend this product but because of the price, I'd say try the other styles of Max factor mascaras.

From the Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara Product Description:
  • All the positive effects of false lashes with a new mascara.
  • Unique Big Brush with patented, thermoplastic elastomer technology and 50% more bristles (vs. Masterpiece Max Mascara).
  • Big Brush contacts and coats more of each lash in every go, sweeping volume right to the tips for length and lift.
  • Volumizing Liquid Lash formula creates a natural-looking array of full-volume lashes.
  • Formula builds volume by allowing the brush to sweep to the tips from the first and each subsequent strokes.

Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara Review

Max Factor Eye Max Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper Mascara
I had never heard of the makeup brand Max Factor until I started researching around online. My previous mascara was running out quickly but I wanted to challenge myself to try a new brand.

I found this Max Factor 2000 Calorie mascara at a discounted price on Amazon with free shipping so I ordered it.
My max factor mascara came in the mail about five days later and I was so excited! I opened up the packaging and realized this tube of mascara looks just like CoverGirl lashblast. What a coincidence, that was my last mascara I had owned! I absolutely love the bristles on the mascara wand and the wide handle. It took me awhile before getting used to the extra large wand but in the end I wouldn't go back! This max factor 2000 calorie mascara went on great when I first applied it to my lashes. There was no clumping and after a few hours there was no sign of flaking either! I found the best technique is to put one coat of this on and wait 45 seconds. Then you should put another coat on focusing the most on the outer lashes so that you will get more length to it. This max factor mascara gives wonderful volume and length in one! The only drawback that I have with this mascara is that it doesn't come off the easiest. Using a little bit of soap or other products will do the trick through. I would definitely recommend max factor to anyone looking to make their eyes pop and sparkle.

Paint it Black Tanning Lotion Review

I am a very pale and fair skinned 21 year old who has a hard time getting tan. I try so hard but my Norwegian skin just doesn't ever want to turn a shade darker!

I was desperate so I looked around my local tanning salon and saw Paint it Black tanning lotion. It was super expensive so I went home and searched around on Amazon. Surely enough, it was only around fifteen dollars! I immediately ordered it after reading some of the customers responses.

The day it arrived, I popped open the cap to the bottle and it smelled wonderful! If you ever have smelled Bath and Body Works warm vanilla sugar lotion...it smells just like it. The Paint it Black lotion itself was very creamy and went on smooth. It has no tingles in the tanning lotion, thank goodness (I hate those). I applied it to my body about 15 minutes before I left to the tanning salon to let it soak in. I usually get blotchy red when I get out of the beds and about an hour later it starts to itch. After I was done tanning, I went home and showered only to find I wasn't itchy! I didn't look in the mirror much later but when I woke up in the morning I could see a slight difference. I continued using Paint it black for about a week of tanning and I have never seen my skin so dark before from a tanning salon! I am very pleased with this lotion. It is also a great moisturizer and doesn't dry out your skin like most other lotions. I definitely recommend this tanning product to anyone looking for a quick golden bronze makeover!

Revlon Nail Enamel Review

I always love to try new nail polishes from my local drugstores because you never know when you'll find something good. I was searching through the makeup isle one day and saw that Revlon was having a sale on nail polish. I saw the product Revlon Nail Enamel and saw they had a variety of colors. They even had scented Revlon nail enamels! I bought one regular and one strawberry scented nail enamel at a reasonable price.

For the cost of these Revlon nail polishes, the quality is pretty good. When I applied it to my fingernails it went on smooth and displayed a vibrant color. I put a top coat on my nails to make it shinier though as once it dried, the color dulled. About two days went by after I had applied this to my nails and almost every nail was chipped. I don't use my hands much so that says a lot right there. I would recommend this nail enamel to anyone who has a special one night event and needs a pretty color.

Laura Mercier Foundation Review

I had been looking for a face foundation that would create an illusion that my skin was flawless.

I was in my local store and found a new brand of foundation I had never heard of. The foundation was called Laura Mercier Foundation. To me that sounded fancy and I just had to try it so I bought it that day.

When I got home I cleaned my face and applied moisturizer on first. This Laura Mercier foundation has no oil in it so you have to make sure you dampen your sponge when applying it. The applicator to this bottle is fabulous because you can pump the perfect amount of product out that you need. I believe this foundation would be great for getting your photos taken or for a special event but not for an everyday look. This face foundation felt and looked cakey after awhile which was a turn off. It dries super fast as well so it's hard to get an even coverage on your face if you don't work quickly. After a day of wearing this foundation I had one or two pimples show up! I'm not impressed with this Laura Mercier foundation but would probably wear it during a photo shoot.

Maybelline Volum Express Colossal Mascara Review

I am always looking for the newest brand and styles of mascara at my local drugstore. My lash blast mascara was running almost empty so I made a trip to Walgreens.

I saw that Maybelline was having a mini sale and spotted a bright yellow/purple tube staring back at me! It was called Maybelline Volum Express The Colossal mascara. I bought the darkest shade of this mascara because I like my lashes very black. The price of this mascara was affordable at around eight dollars. When I first applied this colossal mascara to my eyes, it started to clump. I was pretty disappointed but I thought about my favorite mascara which also did that when I first opened it. I thought i'd keep using it and see if the clumping decreased. This Maybelline mascara also smelled really bad which was a turn off. It created volume for my lashes but by the end of the day it seemed to have flaked off a little. I'm not sure if i'd recommend this product to anyone but maybe it could be your new favorite, it's all about personal preference.

NYX Black Label Lipstick Review

I always love going to my local drugstore and pick up a random lipstick to try. About one in five products I will find a keeper! One day I was at the store and came across the product NYX Black Label Lipstick

The name sounded cool and the tube looked nice so I purchased it for around $7 (it's cheaper online now). The packaging and tube was sturdy enough.

As soon as I arrived home I went to my bathroom and applied this NYX lipstick. It is definitely very moisturizing to your lips. It felt very smooth and creamy-like. It had a nice little smell to it when you apply it but that disappears after 10 seconds. The pigmentation of this black label lipstick was really great and vibrant to the eye. I am going to go buy these NYX lipsticks in many more colors because they are just that valuable to have in your makeup collection!

Maybelline Mineral Powder Foundation Review

I was looking for a great powder foundation that would not make my skin break out or get oily. I went shopping at Target one day and was browsing through the makeup isle.

I saw that Maybelline was having an awesome sale on their products so I looked closer. I saw the product Maybelline Mineral Foundation and was intrigued by the "mineral" part. It seemed like it would be natural and wouldn't hurt to try it. This mineral foundation was around $8 so I said what the heck and bought it!

As soon as I arrived home I opened the little container and the powder looked and felt like silk! It came with a small brush that was pretty hard to fan out so I threw it away. I bought an ELF brush that was wide enough to cover my face equally. When I applied it to my face it went on great; smooth and evenly. It didn't have a bad smell to it either so I thought it was a keeper. I soon realized when I looked in the light that I had bought a shade too dark for my pale skin, rats! Although I liked the Maybelline mineral foundation quality, I never went back to buy a shade lighter. I am pretty broke so that's the main reason. I am sure if it had been the right color I would of fell in love with it though. I still use this mineral powder foundation in the summer when I am tan but otherwise it just collects dust!

Tarte Cheek Stain Review

I have used powder blushes my whole life but my friend suggested to me to use gel blush. I thought to myself WHAT?! that would be interesting. I went to my local drugstore and sure enough I found a cute little product called Tarte Cheek Stain on the shelf. It was on sale at the time for around $20 which I thought was pretty expensive but I splurged anyway. The bottle I chose was pretty dark on the outside which made me worry but the product ended up being sheer in color, phew.

As soon as I got home I opened the cheek stain and applied it to my temples. The product went on fabulous, it was so easy to blend with my fingers! The color looked very pretty on my skin and I was surprised how much BETTER it looked than my normal powder blush. I wore this all day to college and 8 hours later it still looked perfect. There was even humidity that first day but it stayed put. I would definitely recommend this tarte cheek stain to anyone looking for a long lasting blush. It's worth the price!

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation Review

I am always on the look out for new foundation products to see if I can find a gem in the drugstore. One day I was browsing through Walgreens and saw Maybelline having a great sale so I checked out that section.

I saw the Dream Matte Mousse Foundation on the shelf which looked like a fun little container (that always drags me in hehe). I purchased this product for a reasonable price around $8 and took it home!

The first time I tried using this matte mousse foundation, it felt like silk when I touched it with my fingers. The foundation is very smooth and creamy which is a plus. I find that this Maybelline foundation is in my top 5 of foundations because it is SO blendable! The only concern I have is when you put too much of it on, then it starts to cake over. I usually put a bronzer on top of this product and it works out very well. This doesn't make my face look oily and it is the longest lasting foundation I've ever bought. I would definitely recommend this dream matte mousse foundation to anyone who is looking for a light look everyday!

Different Styles of Monokini Swimsuits

There are many different styles of monokini swimsuits to choose from this year. It all depends on your taste and your motivation. If you want to go for the sexy look, they definitely have your style! If you want to have a more reserved look, they have it. If you want to be a tease at the beach, they surely have something for you! Lets take a look at the most popular styles of 2011.

This monokini has one strap going down the middle of your stomach with a circular ring in the middle.

This monokini has a strap that goes across your chest to make sure your breasts are secure in place. This swimsuit is great for bigger busted girls who are nervous about them falling out.

This is a bikini style monokini where there are only spaghetti size straps that connect it around.
This is a popular new style of the monokini; the strapless sweetheart swimsuit! This monokini is perfect for tanning at the pool so you don't get horrific shoulder tan lines.

This is a unique style of the monokini as it takes a chunk out of your stomach and has a unique shoulder embellishment.

This monokini is more for if you're looking to be sexy at the beach. With its 3 metal rings protruding down the stomach it'll for sure make the boys look twice.
This monokini has the ring to connect the top part and two straps going down your stomach showing off your belly button.

This is a unique style of the monokini as it has many strings coming down from the bikini top part.

This monokini has four straps that connect all in the middle with the circle.

This is a sassy looking monokini with only one strap! Add the fierce animal print and you are ready for the beach, rawr.

2011 Monokini Swimsuits

If you haven't heard of the new hot swimwear monokinis then you have been missing out! These swimsuits are the most popular style for 2011.

Monokini's are perfect for women who don't want to show off too much skin but also feel sexy. I know a lot of ladies who think that they must keep buying boring old one piece swimsuits but the horror is over now! Monokinis typically have the sides of a one-piece bathing suit cut out in cute styles. Not only do these swimsuits look amazing, but they actually create a slimming illusion. Try a solid color black monokini to achieve the slender look or go wild with animal prints! Monokini Swimsuits are very popular among teenage girls as well so don't be surprised if you see a mob of monokini's laying out at the beach this summer :) I would definitely  recommend a monokini to anyone who is self conscious about wearing a bikini.

I have created my top list of styles of monokinis from Amazon (they are super cheap compared to in the stores!) I really hope you find the perfect one.

Olay Regenerist Eye Serum Review

Ever since I was younger I have been getting fine lines under my eyes and bigger darker circles. It was getting worse and much deeper lines so I was desperate to try something. I found this product; Olay Regenerist eye serum on sale at Amazon.com for around $14 so I said what the heck and ordered it. About a week later my eye serum arrived and I was so excited to get it open!

The first thing I noticed about my Olay serum was the nice bottle it came in. It was a smaller size than I had originally thought but the pump application was great. Instead of wasting the eye serum product, you can get the perfect amount with one pump. You can also twist the pump to lock it shut which can be great for traveling. A plus about this product is that it has no smell or strong fumes like other eye serums I have used. I didn't break out from using this (I have sensitive skin) which was a miracle! I now use this Olay serum every morning and night. It has really tightened up my skin and reduced the appearance of my lines! Not only that but it moisturizes your skin great. I would recommend this product to anyone who has the starting problem of wrinkles.

Product Description:
Olay Regenerist Eye Lifting Serum visibly lifts and brightens the area around the eye - lids, corners and under-eyes - without drastic measures. It contains an amino-Peptide complex that hydrates to firm skin and allows the natural regeneration of collagen and elastin. Skin's natural glow will be restored and left feeling velvety-smooth. Fragrance free. Dematologist and ophthalmologist tested. Non-greasy. Use morning and night on cleansed skin. Place small dots all-around the eye area--under eyes, outer corners, eyelids--and smooth in until thoroughly absorbed.

CoverGirl Lash Blast Mascara Reviews

Covergirl LashBlast Fusion Mascara Volume & Length

Pros: Lash Extending, Lash fattening, Little to no clumping
Cons: Pricey, Some clumping, Flaking

I bought this mascara about two months ago and was very skeptical because the orange tube was my love for a long time. After having used this everyday, I am pretty impressed with the length it gives my eyelashes but the volume really isn't as great. I think I will stick to the lashblast mega volume mascara OR do one coat of each!

Covergirl LashBlast Luxe Shimmery Volumizing Mascara

Pros: Long Lasting, Good Colors, Easy Removal, Smooth Look, Easy To Apply
Cons: Clumps, Smudges, No shimmer

Great Mascara, goes on smooth and not clumpy and it really thickens and makes my lashes longer, the only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is because I didnt notice any shimmer to it at all, but other than that its a good mascara.

Covergirl LashBlast Mega Volume Mascara

Pros: Adds Volume, Doesn't Clump, Applies Evenly, Lengthens, Great Brush, Defines & Separates
Cons:Cannot apply more later, Waterproof brush too skimpy, Difficult to remove

This is an excellent mascara for one who knows how to correctly wield a mascara wand. You do NOT need to remove any mascara from the wand once it's removed from the container. Just roll the wand over the lashes from the base to the tip, thereby evenly covering the lashes. The brush will do the rest. I was incredibly pleased with the appearance of my eyelashes, both upper and lower, after two coats of this product. I also happen to have rather sensitive eyes, and was able to wear this mascara all day and into the evening with no reaction. For the money, I doubt you can find a better product.

Covergirl LashBlast Length Mascara

I like this lashblast mascara because it didn't have too much product on the wand on the first use like many new mascaras (annoying!) so you could get it very even. It also does reach every single lash, even the teeny, tiny hidden ones in the corner of your eyes. The formula is smooth, not clumpy, it's lengthening, not short, and can be applied in more than one layer, which I like. The cons are the applicator is very flimsy....it's a little hard to apply pressure when you're putting it on. And it does seem to contain a smaller amount of formula compaired to other brands. It's a great mascarra for women who like very natural looks or for teens. My 13 year old cousin, who is blonde with light lashes, loves this mascara. Oh, and it's not expensive either, which is always a plus!

Hard Candy Lip Gloss Reviews

Hard Candy Plexi Gloss

I'm usually into Lip Smacker's glosses and prefer not paying more than $2.00...so I thought i'd try Hard Candy Plexi Gloss and bought it in shade Vixen because I liked the sexy red tint. When I put it on I couldn't believe it, there was actually a red lipgloss that was sheer but with a nice sexy pop of color. It is very moisturizing and safe to use on chapped lips even (BONUS!) I also LOVE that this particular shade has a nice vanilla-ish or red velvet cake type flavor. I absolutely love this lipgloss and would recommend it to anyone.

Hard Candy Mouthing Off Lip Gloss

I have this in a reddish orange-y shade with some sparkle. First off, I really like the packaging with the window to peek through and see the color, it is so cute and I want to eat it up. The gloss applies well too, it goes on smooth and not sticky. The fragrance, or lack thereof, isn't the greatest though, but I don't think it's meant to be anything spectacular. The sparkle is subtle and not overdone, and I really like the way the gloss wears. Plus, the tube seems pretty big so you get a lot for the price. Pretty good stuff. :)

Hard Candy Super Shine Gloss

I have this in Flirt and it's a perfect pink with gold shimmer. Despite the name it's not really super-shiny, more lustrous. I love the brush applicator and the scent- smells just like cake batter! The gloss is sticky and has good staying power, but a lot of people hate that! So if you don't like sticky glosses, beware!

Hard Candy Sweet Spot Lip Gloss

A couple weeks ago I discovered a couple of these lipglosses on sale at a local store and bought 3. I have "Hippie Chick" "Love Child," and "Bohemian." The brown and gold sparkles in Bohemian are absolutely beautiful! All 3 are smooth, creamy, nonsticky, and have neutral/natural colors. The taste of Orange Julius is good too.

Hard Candy Lip Tattoo Stain

This lip tattoo stain is pretty good, the gloss does wear off though after a while. I really like the colors that it comes in. I had to order it online because I couldn't find it in the stores anymore! I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a nice lip gloss.

ELF Hypershine Gloss Review

ELF Hypershine Gloss
I love this product! It feels so good on my lips. I have it in vixen and it is wonderful! I got flirt a few years ago, and I just now ran out. I meant to get that color again, but instead I bought vixen. They definitely changed the formula since I first bought flirt. It feels so good on my lips, I don't know how to describe it...it feels like the liquid lipsticks. Also, instead of being sticky and having a weird strawberry smell (which had a weird numbing effect on my mouth), as the old one did, it had a sweet cotton candy smell and made my lips feel so smooth. If you have tried this product out before and didn't love it, you should try it again- you'll love it now for sure.

ELF Super Glossy Lip Shine Review

ELF Super Glossy Lip Shine Spf 15
These are great when matched up with the Mineral Lipglosses. I used Candlelight and the Mineral Lipgloss in Au Naturale #90109 for a creamy, tan-nude look and it looks great together. Pink Kiss and Pageant Princess are awesome on the lips. Beautiful shades of pink. I find that the Mineral Lipglosses tone down the frost that the Super Glossy Lipshines can have on the lips. And for some, the frost is not a favourite so adding the Mineral lipgloss helps. What a discovery! And the colors between the two are very, very close.

ELF Mineral Lipstick Review

ELF Mineral Lipstick
These lipsticks are very smooth and moisturizing. They feel like chap sticks but have hints of color. You have to do multiple swipes to get a good color on your lips. I got pouty petal, runway pink, and barely bitten. The pouty petal is a completely different color than it looks online. It is nothing like the light pink with a blueish undertone. It is almost like my natural lip color and looks more like the rosy raisin or the party pink or some combo of those two. Kind of disappointed with that but the other two colors are very nice.

ELF Moisturizing Lip Liner Review

ELF Feather Proof Moisturizing Lip Liner
I like to use these lip liners all over my lip and then put a top coat of lip gloss on. The mauve luxe has a very small touch of shimmer so it doesn't look cakey on the lips (thank goodness!) The amount of shimmer in the natural blush isn't very visible to the eye unless you look super close, but it keeps it from looking too flat. The natural blush is great for pale skin...It won't last like a $15 pencil all day, but it gets me to lunch until I have to do touch ups. Well worth a dollar! The mauve luxe pencil is much smoother and softer than the blush pencil.

ELF Lip Liner Reviews

ELF Mineral Lip Liner
I like the liner. Colors are a bit off as compared to the swatches online. The only weird thing about this liner is that it is slightly sticky- or tacky- as if there is something added to ensure it stays in place. It tugs a bit during application, but is still soft and creamy... Hard to explain!
ELF Lip Definer & Shaper
The consistency of this product reminds me of a concealer, but when applied lightly on the lips, it did its job! I liked using this with my "nude lip" looks. If you know how to apply this properly, you can achieve a natural look or a very sexy pouty look. The pencil is pretty large so you get a lot of product (Yay!) Be excited.
ELF Lipliner & Blending Brush
The color is very flattering and easy to blend, thanks to the blending brush on the other tip of the liner. I applied it to my cupid's bow and on in the middle of my bottom lip to make my lips really stand out. There's no scent, it's glided on smooth. Love it.

ELF Lipstick Reviews

ELF Luscious Liquid Lipstick
This is probably the most refreshing lip product I have ever tried! Seriously, it feels really good on the lip, and the color is so sheer, it looks so natural. From looking at it online, I would've thought that it was really pigmented, but it's actually really sheer. Overall though, this product is awesome! And a really good buy!
ELF Lipstick
I bought this mostly because of the price. I mean it is just a dollar. I had nothing to lose. The reviews this lipstick received were very positive but I had little expectations. But, it lives up to the reviews. It's very nice, pigmented, and smells fruity. Love it. I will buy more in the future.
